The Waupaca Community Theatre began its long association with the Waupaca Fine Arts Festival in 1979 and has been providing large-scale musical theatre productions with a full orchestra to Central Wisconsin for the past 26 years. Cast auditions are held each spring with performances taking place in late July at the Waupaca High School’s Performing Arts Center. We gladly welcome anyone with an interest in assisting with our shows, whether in set construction, art work, costuming, choreography, stage crew, sound, lighting or any other area of production. We also present smaller productions including plays, dinner theatre and special events throughout the year at various locations.

Time to meet some more members of our cast for our upcoming show, "The Kids Left. The Dog Died. Now What?" Greg Harvey (Cast) - Greg (Doc) recently retired after a 43-year dental career in Waupaca spanning six decades (1970's to 2020's). When asked to join the cast for TKAGTDHDNW, he decided it was time to have a little musical theatrical fun again. Other WCT productions he’s been involved in include "The Wizard of Oz" (playing a digital harp accompaniment), "Annie," "The Music Man" and "Love Letters." Greg is also a founding member and keyboardist of the retro band "Still Kickin’" (formerly lovingly known as "The Fartarounds"). Greg is happy to join Carmen and Dan, the cast and crew and especially Tamara and Tammy in this fun production! And Jenny Vandiver (Cast) - This is Jenny’s first Waupaca Community Theatre production. She has been a member of the Waupaca Community Choir and plays both the piano and guitar. She used her musical talents while working at the Wisconsin Veterans Home for many years. In her free time, Jenny likes to hike, bike, kayak, and travel. Winter gives her time to quilt! This show is fun!

Meet some more members of our cast for our upcoming show, "The Kids Left. The Dog Died. Now What?" Dean Sondrol (Cast) - Dean enjoys being part of the Waupaca Community Theatre family. He started performing to be with his children but, as an empty nester, has continued to enjoy being on stage. Favorite WCT productions include "Beauty & The Beast," "The Wizard Of Oz," "The Little Mermaid," "Nuncrackers," and "The Drowsy Chaperone." He appreciates all the support and advice from his wife Carmen and children Spencer, Lylli, and Sydni in practicing lines and singing, and his dog Maggi for listening to him practice as he walks through Rural. He thanks Carmen, Danny, his scene partner Sue, and fellow cast members for putting this show together. And Eric Hendrickson (Cast) - An attorney in Waupaca, Eric has been involved with the WCT both providing voices and sound effects for a series of old-time radio shows including "Frankenstein," as well as playing guitar and drums for several WCT musicals including "Vanities," and the recent, "Little Shop of Horrors." This will be his first time on stage as an actor. Eric lives in Waupaca with his wife Jackie and has two grown children and a new grandchild. When he isn’t otherwise busy, Eric plays drums in area jazz bands and guitar in pop groups including the local trio, Hijinx.
More Meet our Cast for our upcoming show, "The Kids Left. The Dog Died. Now What?" Carol Kraco (Cast) - Carol is returning to the stage after a 25-year hiatus. Before she succumbed to the glamorous life of a stay-at-home mom, she could be found on stage in her hometown of Stuart, FL. Some of her favorite parts were Hunyak in "Chicago" and Sister Mary Leo in "Nunsense." Carol now resides in Scandinavia with her favorite person, Gordon, along with a meatloaf-shaped cat and a miniature panther. They can usually be found in their bar/music venue chatting up their patrons and supporting local live music. And Dave Larson (Cast) - A retired tech ed teacher, Dave has been involved with WCT for over twenty years, often behind the scenes building sets and props for multiple past productions. He eventually participated in shows onstage as a member of the chorus and a few bit parts in "Annie," "Into the Woods," "Grease," and "The Music Man," amongst others. He was also a lead in the world premiere of the play, "Critics' Choice." Dave enjoys working with his Waupaca Community Theatre family no matter what the project is. Come meet Carol and Dave and the rest of the cast in January - https://our.show/emptynest
It's time to start Meeting our Cast for our upcoming show, "The Kids Left. The Dog Died. Now What?" Amy Holterman - A Waupaca native, Amy received her B.A. in Theatre from UW-GB and went on to NYC to study at The National Shakespeare Conservatory. Favorite roles include Helena in the national tour of "A Midsummer’s Night Dream," herself in "I Dated Mr. Potatohead," Baker/Wench in the national tour of "Cyrano de Bergerac," co-writer/actor in "The Flying Napkins" comedy duo, and multiple roles in "The Ensemble Studio Theatre’s One-Act Festival" Off-Broadway. She was last seen in WCT’s production of "Critics' Choice." She has become an empty-nester recently, so this is art imitating life. Amy is thrilled to be working with this talented team.
