When connected to a gate&#8217;s frame the fork can be dropped down over the gate post preventing it from swinging open or closed. The fork and hanger are also formatted to allow a padlock or other similar locking system to be applied, keeping the gate from being opened or closed by locking the fork from swinging up.<\/p>\n<p>Malleable iron products are made for heavier duty situations with a more robust design. Unlike typical pressed steel products that can be shaped or bent by application of intense pressure, malleable iron products are designed for durability and strength, offering thicker castings and a more rigid construction.
